Modern Kitchen Renovation
The kitchen could be called the heart of our home, and it should be comfortable and functional. In recent years, because of cost, kitchen renovation has become the most popular choice for homeowners – and the kitchen is perhaps the most important room in the home in terms of design.
After the renovation, the kitchen should be practical, ergonomic and have plenty of storage. That way it changes your mood and can take you on a culinary journey. Once you decide to go ahead with the renovation, you first need to choose the look and style that suits your taste. Then come the construction materials, which will determine the cost.

The IG Constructions team can prepare a photorealistic rendering of your kitchen using 3D software. This gives you a fuller picture of the kitchen being built and reduces the cost of any changes that might arise as the project progresses. The main stages our company follows for a kitchen renovation are:
Kitchen renovation stages
Stage 1 – Site visit – Study & design:
First, a civil engineer will visit your home. They will note your needs and wishes for the project, record the possibilities and constraints of the space and take measurements. You will be able to discuss various topics with them, such as the materials to be used and the style that suits your home (classic or modern) – for example, whether to use laminate, veneer or lacquer for the cabinet doors, the thickness and material of the worktop and sink, and the hinges and soft-close drawer mechanisms available on the market. The positions of the appliances (cooker, fridge, washing machine, oven) will be set, so that the necessary changes to the plumbing and electrical installations can be made.
Next, we will design your new kitchen, taking into account the colour combination you have chosen, and email you a detailed quote. We can meet again at our office or at your home for a detailed presentation of the final design. Once you accept our offer, a private agreement is drawn up between the two parties. The agreement sets out in detail the works and materials to be used for your kitchen renovation, as well as the schedule to be followed.
Stage 2 – Removal – Debris disposal:
IG Constructions technicians remove the kitchen cabinets and strip the splashback tiles. If agreed, the plumbing installation is inspected and/or upgraded, as it is a key factor in the kitchen working properly.
Stage 3 – Plumbing and electrical installation:
New water-supply pipes are installed for the sink mixer and the dishwasher/washing machine. At this stage, if decided, the electrical installation is also extended, with additional sockets, light fittings and concealed lighting.
Stage 4 – Plastering:
Once the above works are complete, the patches they leave need to be repaired. New plaster is applied locally to cover and smooth the kitchen walls.
Stage 5 – Fitting the kitchen cabinets:
The new kitchen cabinets are delivered from a modern production facility to the project address and fitted by an experienced IG Constructions crew.
Stage 6 – Tiles, sink/mixer and appliances:
At this stage the new splashback tiles are laid. Then our plumber and electrician visit to make all the necessary connections and checks.
Stage 7 – Plaster decorations and painting:
The kitchen renovation is completed by painting the space with eco-friendly paints from leading brands.
We take on projects in all areas of Attica – for example Glyfada, Piraeus, Ilioupoli, Agia Paraskevi, Chalandri, Kifisia and Kapandriti – as well as across the rest of Greece.
