Manthos decided to move from Ioannina to Athens for a career change. He owns an apartment in central Athens which, because of its age and lack of use, had problems that made it uninhabitable, so a home renovation was needed.

At our first appointment, we surveyed the apartment's rooms as well as its problems. It was a 95 m² apartment with two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen and an open-plan dining-living area. Because of the owner's needs, we had to create a new (third) bedroom and an additional bathroom. After gathering all the data and the owner's wishes, we prepared an architectural design so that, after the renovation, the apartment would meet our client's needs.

Once we had settled on the new design, we started implementing it:

• First, we demolished the wall between the kitchen and the living room
• The floor and wall tiles and the bathroom sanitary ware were removed
• Debris was channelled into skips through special chutes
• A new bathroom was built between the two bedrooms
• A new bedroom was created where the kitchen used to be
• New plasterboard walls were built
• New multilayer heating pipes were installed, ending in a distribution manifold (collector)
• A new water-supply network was built with new multilayer hot/cold water pipes in the bathrooms and kitchen, ending in a distribution manifold (collector)
• The wiring and the main distribution board of the electrical installation were replaced
• Laminate was laid on the floors of the apartment, and tiles in the bathrooms
• New wardrobes were built, new interior doors fitted and new wooden kitchen cabinets built
• The apartment's aluminium window frames were replaced

Finally, the apartment was painted with new decorative trowelled finishes in shades chosen by the owner.

The project was completed within the schedule agreed with the owner, with the help of our technicians and suppliers. Another home renovation in Athens was completed successfully, with an excellent technical result.
