Athina owns an apartment in Glyfada that she rented out. After the last tenants left, and given the normal wear and tear it had suffered, she decided to go ahead with a home renovation. During our site visit we surveyed the apartment and recorded the owner's needs. The apartment is on the ground floor, was built around 1970 and has an area of 32 m².

Once the new architectural design for the apartment was complete, the necessary permit was issued by the local planning authority and the following building works were carried out:

• The bathroom was completely stripped out
• The floor tiles, kitchen cabinets and the wooden wardrobe in the living room were removed
• The electrical and plumbing installation was replaced
• The new plumbing installation was made with multilayer pipes and a distribution manifold (collector)
• A new wardrobe and kitchen were installed, and a new laminate interior door was fitted
• A walk-in shower was built and an enclosure fitted
• The sanitary ware was replaced
• New tiles were laid throughout the apartment, the bathroom and the kitchen
• The apartment was skimmed, primed and painted with branded eco-friendly paints.
